Green heating is friendly to bills and the environment

Under the brand of Green Heating ORGREZ ECO brings a new service to towns and municipalities. It will help them to reduce the carbon footprint of their heating plants by tens of percent while maintaining the production price of heat.

Green heating is friendly to bills and the environment

The new service offers a rational solution to deal with challenges such as rising fossil fuel and emission allowance prices, the impending extension of the EU ETS to small sources, the stability of natural gas supply, the declining availability of biomass, the requirements of new directives on the efficiency of heat production and the use of RES, as well as the need to ensure affordable energy and a healthy living environment for the inhabitants of towns and cities.

Green heating works with a hybrid system of heat and electricity production using the mutual advantages of different sources. ORGREZ experts design the system according to the needs and character of the site, combining conventional gas, biomass or waste sources with modern RES. “We maximise the utility of the photovoltaic plant in combination with a cascade of heat pumps and electric boilers. We supplement the system with hot water storage or batteries to cover the time discrepancy between electricity production and heat consumption,” explains Jan Krišpín, CEO of ORGREZ. A key element of the system is an automated control system that will enable the purchase of missing electricity for heat generation at times of daily price minima and ensure the operation of the most advantageous combination of sources at any given time. All of this is managed through the cloud, which the company operates for customers.

Benefits not only for the environment, but also price stability and increased safety

The ecological benefit of the hybrid system lies in the possibility of combining current sources with renewable energy sources with a high emphasis on short-term heat storage, which allows the system to significantly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels. “By linking the system to the community energy system, it also enables the direct use of surplus energy from municipal renewable sources that could otherwise be thwarted,” adds Jan Hanus, Environmental Project Manager at ORGREZ ECO.

From an economic point of view, the system stabilises, improves or maintains the price of heat at a comparable level and, in addition, when linked to other areas (e.g. public charging of electric vehicles or consumption of urban buildings), can significantly reduce the total cost of electricity for these operations.

On the operational benefits, Jan Hanus adds: “The system contributes significantly to the diversification of resources, i.e. the possibility of choosing the optimal mix of currently operated resources according to current market prices. In addition, the system emphasises the maintenance of sufficient available power and capacity of backup sources to ensure safe heat supply.”

Transitioning to a more sustainable and worry-free heating system

ORGREZ Group, the country’s leading energy services provider, will help with the transition to a significantly more sustainable heating industry without the hassle of designing, installing or operating the sources.

The companies of the ORGREZ Group will provide turnkey solutions:

  • Designing the optimal combination and power range of sources
  • Design of energy storage for efficient use of renewable resources
  • Design of the optimal way of operation
  • Evaluation of the carbon footprint and heat price after reconstruction
  • Preparation of project documentation and ensuring the permitting procedure
  • Administration of the grant application
  • Implementation including commissioning
  • Remote operation of the energy sector to minimise the production cost of heat
  • Optimisation of operation and tariff parameters
  • Providing data collection and analysis for community energy connections or ESG reporting

Sample projects with exact parameters of combined sources, percentages of emission footprint reduction, payback and references of ORGREZ Group in the field of sustainable energy can be found on the new website www.zeleneteplarenstvi.cz.
